Mindfulness - what is it exactly?
Updated: Feb 21, 2022
What is it, exactly?
.
An airy-fairy confusingly abstract concept that needs complex explanations? NOPE, not really.
.

Being mindful means paying attention to the present moment whilst letting go of judgements.
.

For example: The sound of the rain on the window pane and the smell of hot tarmac after a shower. If your mind wanders off to thoughts such as 'I’m going to get soaked when I take the baby out later and then we’ll be out and might catch cold...' notice these and return to the sights and sounds. Your mind is human so it's going to wander... but you don't have to listen to it!
.
Let your mind describe what you notice (like the colour/shape of objects, or the volume/tone/pitch of sounds) rather than labelling everything automatically.
.
We find that explaining the concept is actually far more difficult than actually doing it.
We don’t need to sell you #mindfulness we want to help you live it.
